Overview:
We are looking for a Head of Impact to manage Goldfinger’s social impact and Goldfinger Academy programmes. We are looking for an energetic and organised social impact or community outreach professional to provide leadership and overall management on our Impact programmes. This role will suit a well-seasoned individual who is passionate about social impact, sustainable design, and community outreach, who can join us from June on a part-time basis.
With support from the Chief Operational Officer as well as one of our Directors, you will shape social impact strategy, and lead on our impact programmes, contributing to our B-Corp recertification in 2027.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach Programme Strategy & Management
Manage the strategy, the programming and execution of the Impact programmes of the Goldfinger Academy:
● Future Makers traineeship: update course content and scheduling, select makers, send out applications for traineeships & review, select & manage trainees, work with maker to prep, risk assess and deliver the Future Makers traineeship and follow-up with participants
● Signpost work experience and mentorship requests to our trusted partners such ShiftED and Spear
● Organise quarterly educational / social events for alumni of the Future Makers programme
● Perform annual review of ongoing Academy model including landscape review, with updates to vision statement and theory of change, as necessary
● Set annual targets for social impact outputs and outcomes, in line with internal KPIs, our specific United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). and B-Corp recertification requirements
● Manage the impact@ inbox and respond to emails inquiries in a timely manner Community Development
● Maintain and develop relationships with key local organisations who support young people in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and beyond currently Construction Youth Trust, Volunteer Centre, Spear, W11, RBKC.
Impact and Reporting:
● Maintain accurate impact statistics, reports, collating feedback to share with our wider team, funders and stakeholders
● Keep track and review Academy KPIs yearly: – Hours of Training, – # of young people receiving training – # of traineeships – paid hours of work – # hours of work experience
● Maintain new Impact CRM: BetterUnite by keeping all records on our database up to date Stakeholders
● Establish and continue to build partnerships and meaningful relationships with key programme partners currently Unloc and Morley College as well as local schools, and with donors currently Hoxton Hotel and Westway Trust, RBKC.
● Attend stakeholder meetings as necessary
Finance:
● Generate and manage annual budget for Future Makers traineeships and overall community outreach activities
● Follow the companies financial procedures
● Liaise with COO for management and reporting of material purchases and payment of freelance tutors and partners; attend bi-monthly cash-flow meetings.
Development:
● Develop fundraising strategy to reach an annual target of £15-20K, to supplement monthly donation from the for-profit arm of Goldfinger.
● Apply to small to medium-size grants and foundations
● Build relationships with new and existing donors/corporates/non-profits and partners with goal of fundraising and building collaborations
● Manage successful grant relationships, including reporting Governance
● Attend and prepare monthly team meetings as well as bi-monthly 1:1 with line manager
● Support the Marketing Team and Systems Manager of parent company to prepare any annual reports (CIC and our own annual Impact Report)
● Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to edit Impact section of our annual Golden Summary
● Report impact work in relation to Goldfinger’s B-Corp reporting and reaccreditation.
