A new subsidiary of Social Enterprise UK that will globalise SEUK’s pioneering work on social and environmentally impactful supply chains
Telos is a new subsidiary of Social Enterprise UK that will build on SEUK’s pioneering work on social and environmentally sustainable supply chains in a global context. Having advised UK Government on billions of pounds of contracts through the Social Value Act and supported businesses to spend over £350 million with social enterprises in the UK through the Buy Social Corporate Challenge, we believe we are well placed to take this work forward.
Telos will be headquartered in Dublin with the new website going live in September 2023. As a social enterprise, profits from Telos will be driven to support the development of social enterprises to deliver within the B2B space.
Telos will own and operate the Buy Social Europe programme on behalf of SEUK. The core ambition is to drive the social procurement opportunity across EMEA by providing businesses with a single point of entry into the market, building on the success and track record of the Buy Social Corporate Challenge.
Through the development of the Social Value Act, Telos have significant expertise of commissioning and supply chains through the lens of maximising their social, economic and environmental impact. This has included supporting projects at scale such as HS2 Ltd’s main works contract (£15 billion) and the Palace of Westminster restoration (£10 billion). We will be taking this expertise to support businesses to look more broadly at how they can deliver this impact themselves, driving a holistic approach through the supply chain.
We believe that supply chains are at the heart of building sustainable, impactful businesses. Telos will therefore work to build the business case for procurement as a force for good, building on existing relationships with organisations like the World Economic Forum, European Commission and United Nations.
