We run, partner and support a wide range of events. See below for examples of recent and upcoming events.

Let's Talk Good Finance Events

Social investment is often seen as a London-centric activity. It can be harder for social enterprises and charities outside of the capital to access social investors and gain a better understanding of the financial products available.

It offers social enterprises and charities the following opportunities:

  • To speak to charity and social enterprise leaders who have already accessed social investment
  • To meet potential social investors
  • To learn about new social investment initiatives, funds and instruments
  • To be able to ask questions in a safe and non-judgemental space
  • To understand more about when social investment is not suitable or appropriate

Social Saturday in the West Midlands

Social Saturday is SEUK's big national campaign designed to celebrate and raise awareness about the strength and diversity of the UK's social enterprise sector. Social enterprises across the country will be putting on events, getting press coverage, inviting their MPs to come and visit and shouting out loud on social media.

With two Social Enterprise Places in the region and so many inspiring stories - the West Midlands will be at the heart of the campaign. There are already great Social Saturday events in Coventry and Birmingham and there's a lot more being planned. If you're planning something for Social Saturday, either on the day or in the week running up to it, let us know by emailing socialsaturday@socialenterprise.org.uk. More information about the campaign can be found at socialsaturday.org.uk

13 September  10 -4pm - Hospice UK/Social Enterprise UK West Midlands health event - Beacon Centre, Wolverhampton.

This day long event aims to inform hospices about key health and social care priorities, structures and organisations, and how to engage with them to support delivery. We've got some great speakers from within the hospice sector and outside it who'll be talking about their experiences of working in partnerships to develop and deliver in complex commissioning environments. Speakers include Elizabeth Hancock - CEO Mary Ann Evans Hospice,  Steve Jackson - CEO Mary Stevens Hospice, Cllr John Cotton - Birmingham City Council and Sean Russell from the West Midlands Combined Authority.
