Vi-Ability is a social enterprise, which provides sports business educational programmes to:

  • Equip young people with business and employability skills to help reduce economic
    inactivity and youth disengagement; and
  • Helps grassroots sports clubs become viable businesses and thriving community
    hubs which are relevant to everyone.

Job Purpose
We are looking for enthusiastic and inspiring candidates to work within our programme delivery team. The role is ideal for people who are passionate about supporting individuals who have often become disengaged with traditional education methods and are struggling to find employment. You will be required to deliver our award-winning educational programmes, supporting our young people to gain qualifications, as well as highlighting the opportunities available to them within the sports and leisure industry.


We will provide you with the content and support to deliver engaging and inspirational programmes, using sports business to help educate young people. They will then use their new skills to support a local community club, providing valuable experience for the participant and much needed support for the community club.

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences
Required:

  • Passion for educating and inspiring through sport and sports business to enhance
    the lives of young people;
  • Level 3 Award in Education & Training or Equivalent e.g. PTTLS
  • Have a proven track record of providing outstanding training and coaching to individuals/ groups in a formal/informal training setting
  • Knowledge of the business side of sport
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good level of English
  • Reliable and professional, with high personal standards
  • Organised, with a strong attention to detail
  • Confidence in presenting and leading sessions
  • Experience in working with disengaged young people aged between 18-25
  • A self starter and able to work well both in a team and under minimal supervision

Desirable:

  • University degree
  • Qualified teacher status
  • Knowledge of the geographical area and opportunities available to young people
  • Sporting background
  • Full UK Driving licence

Work Environment
Your work environment for this role will be based at our host clubs and sports centres UK wide.
You will be required to complete pre-delivery training and where applicable, there will be the opportunity for you to shadow a Programme Leader. As a freelance member of our team you will be given the opportunity to deliver our programmes across the UK, but you may also notify us which areas you would be willing to cover.


Remuneration
You will be paid per programme at a competitive rate and dependent on your experience and the location of the programme.
