Stuart Emmerson is Regional Director at Social Enterprise UK and leads on our social enterprise places programme. He previously worked for the Federation of Small Businesses, where he was a media spokesperson and worked closely with local, regional and national government.  He has experience as an elected local government politician working at the highest levels holding positions including Chair of Planning, Chair of Public Health and has sat as a member of Cabinet.  Stuart has also been an advisor to an MEP in the European Parliament and spent two years working in China for the British Council. He is a mentor at the Social Mobility Foundation, which aims to improve social mobility for young people from low-income backgrounds.
