Kate is the Founder of Graduate Planet CIC, a social enterprise recruitment agency and a community interest company that supports primary school children in learning about environmental sustainability.
With over 26 years experience in IT, Engineering and Graduate recruitment, Kate uses her knowledge to source sustainability professionals for a broad range of organisations in order to ensure that children are given an informative, engaging and inspirational education in how to solve climate change. Creating long term behavioural changes and a more sustainable future in the process.
The School Sustainability Programme enables primary school children to visit 7 sites including a solar farm to learn about sustainable energy, a real MRF recycling plant to learn how to reduce waste and recycle more effectively, tree planting to understand Co2 emissions. They also develop urban areas of rich biodiversity and take part in river workshops to understand the needs of wildlife as well as building giant sustainable cities out of Lego and harvest food on a farm to learn about sustainable farming techniques. Kate has degrees business studies and marketing, she loves to create bespoke projects that really inspire children to take up their responsibility in the fight against climate change. Winner of the Woman Who – Best New Business award in 2017 and runner up for the FSB – Green Business of the Year award 2017. She more recently successfully launched the SSSP programme and ran a Covid environmental project to support over 500 vulnerable people isolating alone.
