The fourth SEAP survey looked at what effect the new wave of local lockdowns and restrictions are having on the sector with almost half of social enterprises being negatively impacted. It also looked at the wider health of the sector and also the mental health implications of the pandemic. The key finds were that:

  • The health of the sector is static, with cash flow positions consistent over the last six months
  • Almost half of social enterprises are being negatively impacted by the new wave of local lockdowns and restrictions – but many are finding positives too
  • The sector needs more support with mental health – and expertise from social enterprises should be used to address this
  • Over 60% of social enterprises collect data on their impact and use this to inform their operations, promote their work and to obtain (grant) funding
