The Buy Social Corporate Challenge is a ground-breaking initiative to unlock the power of corporate spend to benefit wider society through sourcing from social enterprises – businesses with a social or environmental mission. It brings together a group of high-profile businesses which is aiming to collectively spend £1 billion with social enterprises through their procurement.

The Buy Social Corporate Challenge was launched in 2016 at Number 11 Downing Street. In its first four years:

  • A total of £91,545,356 has been spent by its business partners with social enterprise suppliers
  • 24 high-profile business partners have signed up to the initiative
  • 1,253 jobs have been directly or indirectly created at social enterprises

The Buy Social Corporate Challenge Year Four Impact Report presents key findings on the ‘social procurement’ marketplace, how the participating companies are benefitting and where the opportunities lie, giving a clear roadmap for business leaders wishing to play their part in building back better and achieving a fairer and more sustainable economy.
