SEUK wish to recruit a dynamic individual to lead the development and growth of our Social Enterprise Places programme. Since establishing the programme in 2014, it has now grown into a network of over 30 towns, cities and regions of the UK who are seeking to drive the development of social enterprise locally. The programme has become of critical importance in terms of driving SEUK’s strategy of supporting local representative bodies, implementing SEUK’s national campaigns and policy work locally and driving the growth of UK’s social enterprise sector.
This role will require someone who is comfortable managing multiple complex stakeholder relationships, working not only across all 30 places directly but also building connectivity between them, and between them and the central work of SEUK. This could be as diverse as sharing Plymouth’s strategy for local authority engagement with others in the network, to how SEUK’s corporate engagement through the Buy Social Corporate Challenge could drive local benefit for Places. Our Places have very diverse members from local community groups through to local authorities, housing associations and universities, and so having someone comfortable working across this range is essential.
We are happy to look at candidates who wish to be principally home based, or want to look at a flexible working arrangement (to a minimum of 3 days/week). Engagement with SEUK in London will be essential however to get up to speed on how you can share our work locally, as well as make connections across all of our teams so a willingness to travel is important.
