Bikeworks London is looking for an Operations Manager to lead our Operations Team, who will continue to develop our commercial services. These are our Dr. Bike sessions, Children and Adults Cycle Training, Team Building Challenges, Cycle Maintenance Courses and Cycle Instructor Training.
We have, and will continue to scale our offer to corporates and businesses. This requires a focus on sales, networking and providing a professional service, while acting as an ambassador for the whole of Bikeworks.
The role works alongside the Head of Business Development and the Finance Manager, reporting directly to the CEO, and has the opportunity to develop during this next stage of growth for Bikeworks.
Bikeworks is an East London based social enterprise that uses cycling as a tool to tackle social and environmental challenges across London and the surrounding areas. We were established to capitalise on the rapid growth of cycling following the announcement of the London 2012 Games and how this could be harnessed to address the inequalities being experienced by those most likely to be left behind.
Bikeworks uses cycling to engage children, young people and adults, providing specialist support to disabled people, including people with a learning disability and mental health support needs, in addition to young people at risk, older people and carers.
Over our 14 year history of delivering programmes we have supported thousands of people and changed lives, our work is impactful on a daily basis. We do this through delivery of our inclusive cycling clubs, accredited employment and training programme, team building challenges, public bike maintenance, cycle training for children and adults, and much more.

2020 is an exciting time for Bikeworks, with our Head Office now situated in the Lea Valley Velodrome in the aspiring environment of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we are embarking on our new strategic cycle of development. Our focus is to reach more of the children and adults
who are least likely to participate in cycling, using our programmes to deliver and achieve even more social impact. To do this requires us to expand our commercial services. The role of Operations Manager will lead on this, successfully maintaining and growing this area of delivery.
Operations Team at Bikeworks:
The Operations Team handles all of our commercial services, leading on customer enquiries, and event bookings. While coordinating all associated resources including, staff allocations. In
addition to monitoring and reporting, and end of month processes. On any given day we are delivering multiple sessions across London and the surrounding area, using our pool of Freelance Cycle Instructors and Mechanics. Critical to being successful in the role is maintaining good relationships, providing good communication, with the ability to juggle multiple demands and of course, great customer service.
Salary and Conditions:
- £30,000 – £35,000 Depending on skills and experience
- Full time, Monday to Friday 09.00-5.30pm, with occasional out of hours
- 25 days holiday + Public Holidays
- Pension contribution
- Participation in the Cycle to Work scheme
- Initial one year contract with expectation of becoming permanent
