Job Title: Energy Engineering technician

Hurtwood are looking for an energy engineering technician who wants a satisfying & varied project management role carrying out energy conservation work in the commercial, public sector and industrial buildings sectors.
The role is a hands on one and as well as working with our engineers to design and implement new installations and refurbishments of control systems for heating and ventilation plant.
You will also be undertaking energy surveys to identify the potential for energy and carbon reductions within buildings. You will be working with and helping to develop, our own innovative range of electronics products that are manufactured in the UK and designed to achieve cost effective improvements in energy efficiency, hence allowing organisations with limited capital to escape fuel poverty.
Typically we achieve energy savings of 15-35% and our list of clients includes significant public sector bodies such as Bristol City Council, Bath University and a growing number of schools and health sector organisations.
The work is very rewarding and has the scope to have a significant amount of positive environmental impact.
We are looking for someone to who is willing to learn practical as well as academic and software skills in control systems design and installation and full training in all aspects of the work will be provided. Someone from a technical/electrical background would be advantageous, however, we are more interested in aptitude and commitment than pre-existing skills as these can be taught. What is key is focus, organisational skills and most importantly, a genuine passion for what you do.
