The Post-Production assistant is an essential part of the team. Their key responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Editing short-form content
  • Assisting the wider team with amends, social edits and subtitling.
  • Doing background work that ensures that the edit room works smoothly and efficiently. 

This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or someone at an early stage of their career who is looking to work in online content, exhibition content or post-production.

As with all of the Chocolate Films team, you will spend a part of your time working on creative video workshops with children and young people.


Working on amends, social media edits and subtitling
You will work on elements of longer projects to help get them ready for delivery.

Being a key support for the filmmaking and editing team
You will be helping with planning edits, ensuring drives are ready and content is ingested. And at the end of projects you will archive and store projects. You will also be responsible for sending and receiving footage and other content from our post-production teams in Glasgow, Manchester and international filmmakers.

Working on live streaming projects
You will be trained to work in live post-production on streaming projects.

Editing short form content
Our goal is for you to progress to be an editor over time. We will assign you edits and support you with your work to enable this to happen.

Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere and After Effects

Experience Using FCP,  LT0 tape systems,, Blackmagic Atem and Basecamp.
