This is an exciting time for The Arts Development Company with a new business plan and growth strategy now in place up to 2024. Within this a redefining of the company’s strategic priorities and how we use arts and creativity as a tool for transforming people’s lives and working in cross sector partnerships to help tackle some of our most pressing societal issues and challenges. Primarily working pan Dorset; most recently we have been delivering projects and consultancy across the South West and internationally.

The Business Development Director is a new role; part of the senior management team, you will be a strategic thinker and support the CEO in leading the company going forward. This role is pivotal in leading the organisation to become more financially sustainable, diversifying its income base, increasing income from trading and developing new beneficial partnerships with business, health, wellbeing and care providers.

Location: Dorset

F/T role 37 hours per week on a fixed term 2 year contract

£35,000 P.A plus generous holiday allowance and NEST pension scheme

This is an exciting new role at the Arts Development Company. The successful candidate will be part of the senior management team and will support the CEO to:

  • Lead the company to become more financially sustainable
  • Diversify its income base
  • Increasing income from trading
  • Develop new beneficial partnerships with business, health, wellbeing and care providers

As a critical member of the senior management team, you will identify and realise new business opportunities particularly around NHS/CCG and Local Authority commissioning as well as maximising current business opportunities including efficiency savings, maximising potential from our building (The Little Keep in Dorchester) and developing delivery improvement strategies. Other priority areas include identifying and realising business opportunities for supporting social investment, entrepreneurship and business growth for the creative sector and beyond.

This role is integral to our efforts to achieve maximum impact and financial sustainability going forward, in line with our new business plan and growth strategy.
