Commenting on Labour’s plans which were announced at social enterprise Impact Hub Kings Cross, Peter Holbrook – Chief Executive at Social Enterprise UK said:

“Social enterprises have been ahead of the curve in providing good jobs across our communities creating over 2m jobs so far, many in our most deprived places. So it is fitting that Labour has announced its new deal at a social enterprise.

Relying on business as usual to deliver good work is not a viable strategy. We need to align the interests of workers, society and the planet through all our businesses. This is where we can learn from social enterprises and create a new economic model which shares the benefits of business throughout society.

Growing social enterprise is the fastest way to create good jobs and I look forward to hearing more from Labour on how it will work with the sector.”
