The Organisation:

This is an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to manage a growing, caring and passionate team of therapist’s, community musicians and volunteers. Chiltern Music Therapy is a multi-award winning, not-for-profit, Music Therapy organisation working with people of all ages in schools, homes, hospices, with community projects and individuals across the UK. We specialise in Brain Injury and Neuro-disability assessments and longer term work.

Operations Manager Role and Overview:

As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for establishing and executing major goals and objectives for the organisation. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of therapists, volunteers and will work alongside the office personnel overseeing the organisation’s services and contracts.

You will develop and maintain compliant operational policies and processes, and alongside the Office Manager will oversee and manage staff training, induction, contracts, service enquires, and will help coordinate staff meetings.

Under the supervision of the Directors, the role will develop and implement best practice policies and procedures, and will contribute to strategic planning and business development meetings with the organisation’s senior personnel.

The role will involve representing the organisation and its activities to regulatory bodies, at Partnership Boards, other agencies, community, civic and Local Authority organisations, donors, funders and supporters, and the general public. It will also involve the delivery of presentations to funders, partnership boards, new clients or local organisations.

You will support the Fundraising Manager and Bookkeeper with finance and HR administration tasks including fundraising activities and implementation and management of yearly budgets. 

What Chiltern Music Therapy is looking for:

The successful candidate will need to be approachable, enthusiastic and well motivated, showing a good understanding of the day to day running of a not-for-profit, medium-sized organisation or equivalent setting. They will demonstrate explicit knowledge and experience of program and service delivery, as well as operational management and planning. The successful candidate will have skills in managing customer and staff relations and be confident in dealing with a wide range of people.

Demonstrated business and leadership experience is essential, and experience of staff management and leadership.  The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and good computer skills including use of CRM systems such as Salesforce.  Experience and knowledge of Music or Arts Therapy is desirable but not essential and we are keen to hear from professionals with experience in other Allied Health Professions.

It is essential to demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively with all contractors, volunteers and employees of an organisation and demonstrate experience of working with diverse and vulnerable populations.
