SwitchAid, a not for profit fundraising scheme that generates funds for good causes by switching energy & telecoms for homes and businesses, has done a deal with Carphone Warehouse to benefit charities.
SwitchAid, (previously One Unite Partnership CIC), received £100,000 from the North East Social Investment Fund, to grow and develop its social enterprise. This has enabled the team to start working on new partnerships and develop new ideas.
The SwitchAid team is now looking for charities who would like to receive free brand new phones on a SIM only contract deal.
Dom Ryan, Co-founder of SwitchAid, said, “The investment from Northstar really helped us develop our business model and grow not just the team but also in confidence, so we feel we can approach big players to develop partnerships and innovative ideas with.
We’re delighted to piloting this new scheme with Carphone Warehouse, and are now looking for charitable organisations who want to take part.”
Julie Wake, Northstar Investment Manager, said, “We were really impressed with the team and their ideas, and also how scalable their business model is. It’s great to see them growing and gathering momentum and, as well as being a social enterprise, they really are determined to help others in the sector in new and innovative ways.”
Charities who are interested in the scheme can go to https://switchaid.org/free-phone to register before 31 July.
