The award makes it a hat-trick for Company Shop Group, having previously won the Sustainable Development accolade in 2015 and 2019. The awards recognise the deep impact of Community Shop’s sustainable support model helping to change lives, empower communities and reduce food waste for the benefit of generations to come.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and constant innovation of amazing colleagues at Company Shop Group, the many organisations and supporters they work closely with every day, and the generous support from long-standing industry partners.
Community Shop makes a huge difference for the thousands of individuals and families supported across the UK. Positive impacts include:

Community Shop has ambitious expansion plans to support even more people with vital food access and life-changing development opportunities.
Community Shop supports thousands of members across the country, each with their own story to tell. Mandy, a Community Shop member from Grimsby, shared hers:
“Being out of work I have found it hard keeping warm with the cost of electricity and food, so shopping at Community Shop really helped me. I have met new friends since attending the Community Hub, and it has helped me work within a team. I did not have much self-esteem or confidence and was not good at interviews. I had one interview and put on the waiting list. There were 1700 applicants for 50 jobs. I found out in January that I was successful. So after being out of work for over a year, I am now employed again and I want to thank Community Shop for believing in me and helping me. I feel so positive about my life now”.
