Just One Tree

Partnership Cultivator, Growth Navigator and Marketing Whiz

  • Remote, UK-based
  • Part time
  • £32k-£35k pro rata (based on experience), plus commission
  • Closing date: 22 Nov
  • The role:

Since it began JUST ONE Tree has grown in leaps and bounds, punching through all our expectations. This year alone we’ve smashed the 3 million trees planted milestone, become a partner in the United Nation’s Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and our founder has been nominated for Woman of the Year 2023.

This is an incredible opportunity to join at an exciting time and help take us into the stratosphere!

Working alongside our founder Amanda, and other team members, you’ll be right at the heart of the action. We’re a small, friendly and passionate bunch of people!

We’re looking for someone who can hunt out and seal great partnerships, guide our marketing and fundraising strategies, support on updating our existing marketing/communications assets and help raise brand awareness.

We’re looking for someone who is: a real go getter, is keen yet compassionate and has a light touch when needed, a schmoozer with the ability and confidence to reach out to big brands or high-value donors to entice them onboard, and also a marketing whiz with a great eye for what works with audiences!

This is a permanent part-time, and yet flexible role, for approximately 3 – 4 days a week. We’ll explore the exact hours and timing with you and together find what works.

Your work with us will raise awareness about the climate crisis and the importance of sustainability in the business world in order to create a liveable future. You’ll help us restore wildlife and marine habitats, improve livelihoods in rural communities, protect against deforestation, alleviate climate anxiety in our young and of course help to tackle climate change head on!

So if you’re passionate about having a positive impact on both people and planet, want to work and interact with like-minded individuals (and have fun along the way) then we’d love to hear from you.

    What does the role involve:

    Partnership management

    • Research and successfully secure new long-term relationships with exciting brands and large corporate donors whose company values align with ours
    • Take the helm in the ongoing stewardship of these accounts, keeping them excited about being part of JUST ONE Tree, the impact they’ve had and what their involvement means we can achieve together.

    Fundraising overview

    • Plan and implement fundraising strategies that support our goals and raise brand awareness with target audiences
    • Research networking, speaking events and opportunities for the CEO, yourself and others to attend, to build our network and profile.

    Marketing and communications

    • Working closely with our social media team and communications volunteers, plan, co-ordinate and implement effective marketing and communications that align across our channels and strengthen the JOT brand
    • This will range from horizon scanning and setting the long-term direction of travel for how we reach our key audiences effectively, to fine tuning our marketing assets, finessing messages or signing off image choices for newsletters
    • Provide support and expertise to our team of volunteers to deliver the communications outlined in the plans
    • Be a key lynchpin in the coordination of JOT’s external communications – whether that touches on fundraising, newsletters, partnership work or our schools campaign
    • Be the second brain on speech writing for our CEO

    About you:

    • A self-starter, someone who takes initiative and has boundless energy to get out there and help us grow
    • You’re great at getting brands and high-value donors on board with causes like ours, and an instinct for how to communicate and build starter brands like us
    • A real people person who thrives on the buzz of networking events, loves meeting new people, and enjoys building and nurturing trusted relationships with others.
    • Accomplished at both taking a strategic overview across marketing and communications but also care about the details of wording and timing of the small elements, like what time a social media post goes out
    • Have a good eye for brand identity and can spot the right images or designs a mile off
    • Working remotely is your cup of tea but you also have the flexibility and ability to attend networking events or team meet-ups/co-working days
    • Have a track record in working in a marketing, growth and partnership development role
    • An excellent communicator who can convey the brand story in person, in meetings, at events and across our marketing channels.
    • You’re passionate about what we do, excited to represent our brand and want to turbocharge our global impact.
