Job Title: On Purpose - Head of Learning & Development (maternity role)
Location: London
Close Date: 30/11/2018
Salary: £ 40,000

Job description

We are looking for 9-12 month maternity cover to join the On Purpose team in London as the Head of Learning & Development, co-leading the London Associate Programme with the Head of Associate Recruitment and Business Development.

This role focuses on the planning and design of the learning and development part of the Programme, working closely with the Programme and Finance Manager, to shape the participants’ (Associates) experience and facilitate their development as leaders.

As co-lead, the role also takes on wider organisational leadership and development, in collaboration with colleagues in other programmes and cities.

About On Purpose & the Associate Programme

On Purpose is a community of people who put purpose before profit. On Purpose develops leaders who will help bring about an economy that works for all, an economy that is equitable and sustainable for the long-term. Our core Associate Programme, which helps professionals with an average of 7 years’ work experience transition into a purposeful career, has been running in London for over 8 years and is now established in Paris and Berlin.

On Purpose itself operates as a social enterprise and earns 95% of its income from paying customers. We are based in London, near Aldgate, with offices also in Paris and Berlin.

We are currently planning the next phase of our development, to maximise our impact and ensure we deliver programmes of value in a challenging but changing world.

About the role

This role will be responsible for co-leading the Associate Programme, in which we provide people with the experience, support and inspiration that they need to find work that is purpose driven, matches their values and supports a new vision of how business can be mobilised to make a positive impact.

We run two programmes a year of 18-20 Associates in London, starting in April and October. Each programme runs for 12 months and so we have two programmes “live” at any one time. The Associate Programme is aimed at high-calibre, emerging leaders who are changing jobs and launching their careers in the impact, purpose-led sector. The one-year Associate Programme combines full-time work in two paid work placements, with an intensive learning and development programme, and regular support for each Associate from a professional coach and mentor. We run the programme with support from a diverse and engaged community of pro bono professionals from organisations as diverse as Big Society Capital, M&S and McKinsey & Company, who work with our Associates as mentors, coaches and trainers.

Applications are by CV and cover letter to Katherine. We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible, and by December / beginning of January at the latest, and so will be recruiting on a rolling basis, holding first interviews as soon as we have identified several promising candidates.
