The value of the social enterprise sector has been found to be significantly underestimated at £24 billion with new research showing its real contribution is £60 billion. Evidence shows social enterprises are performing better economically than traditional firms and that the sector employs 1 in 20 people, accounting for 3% of GDP – three times larger than agriculture and as big as creative services.
