Thank you for your photos!

We are delighted to announce two new prizes for the second annual Social Enterprise Day Photography Competition. This year, the competition is looking to reward the best amateur photographs that show how social enterprise is more than just business as usual. The winning photographs will capture how social enterprises create positive change in communities every day.
Social enterprises are businesses run for social and environmental purposes. Whether you are small or large, brand new or well established, get snapping today to showcase your social enterprise and win some great prizes.
The two new prizes are a digital camera and a voucher for lunch for two at Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen, in either London or Cornwall (voucher good for one year).
Entries are being accepted across England until 19 October 2009 and winners will be announced on 19 November, Social Enterprise Day - a national day to celebrate and promote social enterprise.
Winners will also: be promoted in the media and featured in the Big Issue, one of the best known social enterprises in the UK; get two free tickets to Voice10, the UK's landmark conference for social enterprise; and will receive a framed copy of their photo.
The competition is run by the Social Enterprise Coalition in partnership with the regional social enterprise networks across England with one winner from each of the nine regions going forward to compete for the national prize.
There will also be the chance to win prizes at a regional level:
- In the East Midlands winners will receive a package of PR consultancy, and a co-op hamper will go to the runner-up.
- In the South West winners will be awarded a unique ‘behind the scenes' experience with leading media and digital arts centre Watershed.
- In the East of England winners will receive digital goodies - including a camera and a photo frame printer - and a colour printer.
For more information about your region, go to http://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/.
Upstream, a social enterprise based in Devon that aims to help isolated elderly people in rural communities, was the subject of the winning photo in 2008.
CEO Simon Goodenough says: "Winning the Social Enterprise Coalition 2008 photo competition was a great morale boost for all the people who participate in Upstream. We were invited to present to County Council members - enabling us to underline the value of social enterprise to policymakers - and which proves the maxim that a photo is worth a thousand days of lobbying."
Jonathan Bland, CEO of the Social Enterprise Coalition said: "The Social Enterprise Day photography competition was a great success last year and highlighted the incredible range and diversity of social enterprises working all across England, as well as showcasing some great images and the stories behind them. We are looking forward to seeing even more entrants this year."
All entries should be emailed hi-res (no less than 2MB) to photocompetition@socialenterprise.org.uk.
