Coalition appoints three new Board members

Coalition response on delivering secure low carbon electricity
The Coalition has now published a response to the consultation on delivering secure low carbon electricity and submitted it to the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Liberal Democrats and social enterprises connect over breakfast
On 27 October, the Social Enterprise Coalition and the LGA Liberal Democrats co-hosted a breakfast meeting in Westminster. Amongst the attendees at the event was Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable MP.

Last day for schools in England to apply for social enterprise awards
Schools in England which are running their own social enterprise have until TODAY, Monday 26th October to apply to win in the Social Enterprise Awards.

BAME strategy launched
A new strategy to encourage Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities into social enterprise was launched on October 22 at an event in London for BAME female entrepreneurs.

Response to the social investment wholesale bank
The Coalition stresses the need for a wholesaler but says that it needs to be independent, risk-taking and flexible, and that eligibilty should reflect the diversity of social enterprise.

Manifesto workshops
In the run-up to the next election the Coalition will be holding a series of workshops for its members and social enterprises to help shape its manifesto.

Social Enterprise Coalition names new CEO
The Social Enterprise Coalition has announced that Peter Holbrook will become its new chief executive officer following the departure of Jonathan Bland in the New Year.
