SEUK publishes its Annual Review

SEUK-publishes-its-Annual-Review

While 2011 has been one of the most difficult years in our economic history, major progress has been made in social enterprise. This is because it is a force for innovation and succeeds where ordinary market forces fail.

We are very proud of all that we achieved in 2011 together with our members, partners and the wider social enterprise movement. We hope you will find this annual review a useful guide to what’s been a revolutionary year for social enterprise.

A number of policies and initiatives we have long campaigned for came to fruition in 2011, including the creation of Big Society Capital, a wholesale bank for social investment. And the progress of Chris White MP’s Public Services (Social Value) Bill, which, if successful, will revolutionise the way that public money is spent.

Our plans for 2012 are ambitious, which they must be to meet the challenges and opportunities we face: a year that will see Big Society Capital start lending millions every year to social enterprises across the UK.
