Social enterprise leader wins national business award

Peter Holbrook wins national award for bringing business and society together

Peter Holbrook, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK last night won a Business in The Community award. The Marks and Spencer Sieff Award celebrates successful community-business collaborations. The award, presented by Sir David Sieff, recognises individuals whose contribution to society – in bringing businesses and communities together – has left a lasting, replicable legacy.

Peter Holbrook said: "I am delighted to be recognised but it’s the hard work of the social enterprise community that has led to this recognition. The more mainstream business recognises, celebrates and supports social enterprise, the better the social impact of the whole business community. I would like to thank Business in the Community, and specifically the leaders of the Arc Project that supports social enterprises, for pushing social enterprise up the mainstream business agenda. ”
